To be able to digest all the properties of chia properly, easily and pleasantly, it must be ground with the help of a coffee grinder or a simple mortar. If you use the first option, do not give it too much power and do not manipulate it for too long. A few short strokes will be more than enough. Once it is ground, you can add it to your juices, smoothies, and any hot or cold liquid preparations. Don't worry because it will continue to acquire a gelatinous texture with which you can thicken your preparation.

You can also consume it whole, without grinding or handling it. The estimated maceration time is usually between 1 and 2 hours, although it can vary considerably if the liquid is hot. This way, you'll be able to soak it in less than 15 minutes. The only precaution you should take regarding the temperature is this: Chia must not boil in the liquid, whether it has been ground or not. Remember that if this seed is exposed to very high temperatures, it will lose its properties immediately. That's why you should store it in the refrigerator, especially in summer.

METHOD OF USE:

According to the Register of Novel Foods for use in bread with a maximum of 5%. It may also be consumed in baked goods, breakfast cereals, nuts and seed mixtures in an amount not exceeding 15 g/day. They can be soaked in juices or vegetable drinks to make puddings. They can also be ground and added to salads, creams, soups, etc.

Store at room temperature in a cool, dry place away from light.
